Common questions
Why does it ask for my location? The home sky is computed from the sun and moon's real positions above the place you stand. The phenology cards are chosen for your hemisphere, climate zone, and stage of the season. Without location, none of that works. Location is "when in use" only — the app doesn't track you in the background.
Why isn't the weather card showing? The weather card uses Apple's WeatherKit. It needs an active internet connection and a fresh location reading. If you've just changed location or come back from airplane mode, give it a few seconds.
My check-ins aren't syncing between iPhone and iPad. Fourshadow uses your private iCloud database via CloudKit. Confirm you're signed into the same iCloud account on both devices, and that iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → iCloud Drive. Sync may take a minute after a fresh launch.
I'm not getting season-change notifications. Make sure you've turned them on in Fourshadow's Settings tab, and that iOS notifications are allowed for Fourshadow in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fourshadow.
How do I add a photo to a wheel month or check-in? Tap the month wedge (in the Wheel tab) or the day card (in the Creative tab), then choose Take photo or From library. Photos are downsampled to ~2048px and stored privately.
How do I change the year on a wheel? In the Wheel tab, tap the year label at the top of the wheel. A picker appears.
How do I delete a check-in? Tap the day in the Recent list or the heatmap, then "Clear this day" at the bottom of the sheet.
How do I delete all my data? Uninstall the app, then open iOS Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Fourshadow and remove the stored data. Because we don't store anything server-side, that's it.
